What to Expect

When you arrive at Kaiser High School’s cafeteria on a Sunday evening you’ll find a warm, welcoming ‘ohana. You’ll notice that everyone is dressed very casually (some of them probably just came from the beach). There will be some candles in front and some good music setting the mood. You can grab a free latte or cappucino at the coffee bar before you sit down.

The service will start at 5pm (or about…we’re on Hawaiian time) with a few songs of worship, and you’re welcome to sing along or just listen. You’ll hear a relevant message taken from a passage of the Bible, then we’ll close with a few more songs, giving you the chance to reflect on what you’ve heard. We’ll be all pau by 6:30pm, and you’re welcome to hang out and talk story as long as you want. As our guest, you’ll never be singled out for recognition, so you’ll be free to connect with others as much or as little as you like.

If you have keiki ages 3 months to 2 years, you can drop them off in their room across the lawn from the cafeteria entrance. Kids 3 years and up will stay with you for the first 15 minutes of the service, then you can check them in at the back of the cafeteria. They’ll go to our childrens ministry, Voyagers Club, for a fun time of Bible stories, crafts, and games under the care of loving volunteers. They’ll even get a small snack to hold them over until dinner (but we promise not to ruin their appetite, mom!)
